Mobile Water Treatment

Floods, tornadoes, and other disasters can quickly disrupt water systems, leaving communities without safe drinking water. The Water On Wheels Cart (WOW Cart) from WaterStep is a compact, mobile treatment system that restores access to safe water within hours, not days.

Designed for rapid deployment, the WOW Cart can be transported in a pickup truck and operated by a small team. It treats water from surface water or compromised sources, helping stabilize emergency conditions until full service is restored.

  • Designed for rapid deployment in disaster conditions

  • Mobile, self-contained, and field-ready (can be loaded in the back of a pickup truck).

  • Produces over 10,000 gallons of safe drinking water a day

  • Includes filtration, UV disinfection, and onboard chlorine generation

  • Onboard bleach maker produces a gallon of disinfectant every hour to help with sanitization efforts

  • Runs on gas, propane, solar, or battery

  • NSF Certified, EPA approved.

The Lily Pad Network is a coordinated emergency response strategy developed by the EPA, Kentucky Department of Health, and WaterStep to stage WOW Carts across the region before disaster hits. By placing units at key locations—like fire stations, hospitals, and community centers—utilities and response teams can deploy immediately, either independently or together, to meet demand.
